Where's the Welcome Committee?
I've been in the community for over two years (Spyglass Hill Dr) and recently purchased a home on Sawgrass Dr. I have heard from friends and neighbors numerous times that they don't understand what they are getting from the HOA for the fee charged. All that they see are snow removal and maintainance of the common areas. They laughed when I would ask them about a community center or playgrounds being built. However, comical, the only contact that they had with the HOA was when a note was left on on their vehicles when they parked on the street!
I understand that there is a Community Manager-I have yet to hear from her or any Board member in regards to a welcome to the community or introduction. It would be advisable to put together a Welcome packet for new residents and encourage participation within the HOA. Just the right thing to do!
The person who started this website should be applauded-thank you!

Re: Where's the Welcome Committee?
Karl....about a year and a half ago, I mentioned to the board that it would be nice to form a welcome committee. It was pretty much shot down (like a lot of my ideas!) and I was told that I could proceed if I wished-on my own. You may want to check in with the community manager about a "welcome packet" because it is my understanding that each time a house sells, the realtor contacts the community manager and she sends out whatever documents she sends out. We pay for "Real Estate Tracking" in our budget, so I wouldn't understand why you didn't receive anything when you closed on your home.

Re: Where's the Welcome Committee?
Again, thanks for the response Mrs. Secretary
I am glad you are on this forum.
Seems like the Board is composed of good 'ole boys-Politics as usual!
You seem to be the One fighting the Good Fight! LOL!
As far as closing, the only thing we received was the HOA Rules and that was compliments of the realtor. I have not heard anything from anyone associated with the Board! No communication- pathetic if you are trying to build a sense of community.

Re: Where's the Welcome Committee?
Karl-
I just looked at the SOW for the community manager and it does state this:
..... Mail to all new Unit Owners the LHUOA WEB site address and a labeled CD (supplied by the Board) containing all HOA information inclusive of:
i. Community Managers contact information,
ii. All ARC forms, processes, and procedures,
iii. The Covenant, and
iv. The Bylaws.
Did you NOT receive these documents? Please advise.

Re: Where's the Welcome Committee?
Would you like a "hard copy" of these documents or do you want me to send you a link to the location of these documents on the "official" Locust Hill website?

Mrs. Secretary thanks for doing the community managers job. I did not know that you were on the hook for that as well. Should we start to pay you?
