REMOVAL OF BOARD MEMBERS/APPOINTMENT OF NEW MEMBER(S) Empty REMOVAL OF BOARD MEMBERS/APPOINTMENT OF NEW MEMBER(S)

Post by Mrs. Secretary Wed Aug 18, 2010 11:38 pm

Isn't it interesting that there is now a sign posted at the front of the community that states there is a Board Special Meeting tomorrow evening (Thursday, August 19th at 7:30pm) to appoint new board member(s). Was anyone even notified by our lovely President, Carolyn Barrett-Ballinger that there were any openings? No...didn't think so. This is the same president who went out of her way last November to send out a special notice (on our dime) to promote voting "YES" to last year's budget. The board has intentionally left homeowners of this community out of the loop so that they could appoint whoever they felt like appointing-they don't want any difference of opinion on the board, so they make the appointments themselves instead of allowing homeowners the opportunity to vote in a new board member. And the two positions that are open have been open since the end of May when said board members were removed-not by the homeowners, but by their fellow board members. Hmmm....got you thinking??? And interestingly enough....a mass e-mail went out to homeowners today advertising the Community BYO-BBQ, but not one mention of the "Special Board Meeting" ???

Just for clarification, the President did ask one person to fill one of the two openings but said person CHOSE not to accept the appointment because the person felt now was not the right time to join the "kangaroo" board. However, I think this person might be considering running in May 2011 when there should be 4 open positions.

It is interesting that there has been no mention to the community that board members had been removed, why they were removed or that there were going to be appointments. Just another normal day in the life that is the Locust Hill Board . . . .

Here is why at least one person was removed. You have to listen to the audio, you can hear Dave Snavely verbally threaten Sarah (about 2 mins in). On a side note you can hear Mike Boyle say the board granted permission to the developer not to pay dues on all 35 owned pieces of property. I think the one important thing that is mission is the President not stepping in at all to try to control the situation or even tell Dave Snavely that he was wrong for what he said. Please keep in mind that I posted it on a free audio download site so it will take a minute to download. You have to click the download now link for it to begin. After a 50 second wait you have to click the 'here' link to download the file at that point you will have the ability to either save it or open it. Sorry about the way it has to be done but that was the only way to get it.
